Landfill leachate is a high-strength and complex wastewater characterized by high organic content
elevated ammonia nitrogen concentration, and significant water quality fluctuations, placing stringent requirements on system stability and reliability.
This project in conjunction with a waste-to-energy facility, with a designed treatment capacity of 300 m³/day.
The influent leachate presents severe treatment challenges, with COD concentrations reaching 40,000–60,000 mg/L, ammonia nitrogen of approximately 2,000 mg/L, and total nitrogen of about 2,500 mg/L.
To effectively address these challenges, the project adopts a combined treatment process of
Pretreatment + Biological Treatment + MBR + Reclaimed Water Reuse, ensuring reliable performance under high pollutant loading conditions.
During actual operation, the system demonstrated stable effluent quality, with key performance indicators achieving the following levels:
COD ≤ 150 mg/L
NH₃-N ≤ 5 mg/L
TN ≤ 10 mg/L
TP ≤ 0.5 mg/L
Effluent turbidity ≤ 1 NTU
With the application of Jianrong MBR membranes, the system achieved stable long-term operation while maintaining higher operating flux, extended membrane service life, and reduced chemical consumption, resulting in effective control of overall operating costs.
The successful operation of this project provides a reliable reference for landfill leachate treatment and reclaimed water reuse, supporting environmental compliance and sustainable water resource management.
