The Taiping Wastewater Treatment Plant was designed for 20,000 m³/d, while the actual flow reached approximately 26,000 m³/d due to population growth. The continuous overload caused higher operating flux, rapid TMP increase, and increased stress on the MBR system. As a result, problems such as fiber breakage, reduced flux, and declining permeability occurred, leading to unstable operation and inconsistent effluent quality. After technical evaluation, membrane replacement was confirmed as the most effective solution to restore stable and reliable operation.
